G-geez, it's freezing...

[In the afternoon, those in the plaza may find this poor unfortunate new feather trudging toward it as he makes his way there in only pants. Needless to say, he's freezing, and he just wants some actual clothes and warm food...! And to know what the heck is going on. He had already glanced at his journal a bit before, so he knows where he is at least, but he's still awfully confused. Not like he really had the chance to read the journal's guide in depth yet since he's just trying to find a place to stay indoors for now.

Hello everyone. My name is Jude Mathis. I'm what you all call a "new feather," and I just arrived earlier today. I've already read most of the guide, so don't worry about filling me in on where I am and all. I do, however, have one particular question...

What do you all do with your wings in regards to clothing? It's kind of uncomfortable to keep them underneath it all, but it'd be a shame if I had to cut up my favorite clothes just to fit my wings through a hole... So does anyone have any suggestions? I figure it's either one or the other, but it's worth asking what you all do, at least.

And also, is there anyone here from Rieze Maxia? Milla? Alvin? [On one hand, he hopes he's not the only one, but on the other, he really wouldn't want them to be stuck here like he apparently is...]

Well, this journal we're talking through? I'm pretty sure it's like what I'm talking about. It's data being rapidly taken in and put back out so we can hear each other. Phones work like this - they're just smaller and not book shaped.

Aaaaand you lost me... What's a phone? I'm assuming they're a means of communication like the journals.

Yup! In my world, they can let you talk to people over very long distances, even out into space when we're on our ships, though that's usually reserved for official communication. Easier and faster than a letter.

Space...? Your world really has some advanced technology. That's crazy. I don't suppose you can do the same thing with these journals, can you?

The talking? Yeah, we are. Sending that signal into space? Nope. I tried. If I could I would have called for the Enterprise and gotten us all out of here!

You sure have a knack for mentioning things I don't know about... Mind telling me what this "Enterprise" is?

Oh, that's the name of my space ship - the U.S.S. Enterprise.

You own an entire ship?

I don't own her, but I am her Captain, so she's mine in my head. I work for a group called Star Fleet back home.

That's really cool, actually. It sounds like something you'd read from some kind of fantasy story.

It was nothing but dreams a few centuries ago for my planet. It was the stuff of books and TV shows and movies. And then we made it real and it's... amazing.

I can imagine. I wish I could see it for myself.

Maybe one day you will. Who knows? A lot of things can happen in a person's lifetime.

I hope so. That would be pretty neat.

So how long have you been in Luceti now?

Well... depends on how you remember things. I was here a year, and then I went home for about the same time, and then I was back here. But, to people here, I'd only been gone three days. Space-time is a weird beast.

Oh. Huh... That's... pretty confusing. I guess that means time works differently here than in other worlds though.

Something like that. I really don't understand it myself, but somehow it seems to work, and I've had enough of weird time-space stuff to last a life time.

I can hardly wrap my head around it, honestly. But I guess the best I can do is just accept it.

But anyway, the reason I was asking was because I wanted to know if you had any suggestions of what to do around here. If I'm going to be stuck here for a while, well... I need to find something to do to pass the time.

Oh, yeah, that's always a problem. We have a library, if you want to get some reading in, or you could learn to a ride horse at the stables - just check no one owns the horse. We have a battle dome if you want to practice sparring or do some simulations.

Every now and then our lovely captors put us through the wringer with Shifts, and this time of year some of the people throw some big parties you could go to. When it's not so cold I would suggest going around and hiking through the forest.

I do love reading, so I'll probably be visiting that library often. And I heard about the Battle Dome from someone else earlier. I'd hate to fall back on my martial arts, so I'll be sure to keep in shape through that.

But uh... Wow, that sure is a lot. I guess it'll take a while before I actually start to get bored and not have anything new to do here, huh? Though those Shifts sure sound exciting, ahah...

More or less. I'm doing rehabilitation too, so that occupies a lot of my time as well right now.

Rehabilitation? What for? If you don't mind me asking.

Ah, I was basically poisoned, and it's taking a bit to recover from it.
