G-geez, it's freezing...

[In the afternoon, those in the plaza may find this poor unfortunate new feather trudging toward it as he makes his way there in only pants. Needless to say, he's freezing, and he just wants some actual clothes and warm food...! And to know what the heck is going on. He had already glanced at his journal a bit before, so he knows where he is at least, but he's still awfully confused. Not like he really had the chance to read the journal's guide in depth yet since he's just trying to find a place to stay indoors for now.

Either way, care to help this kiddo out?]

Hello everyone. My name is Jude Mathis. I'm what you all call a "new feather," and I just arrived earlier today. I've already read most of the guide, so don't worry about filling me in on where I am and all. I do, however, have one particular question...

What do you all do with your wings in regards to clothing? It's kind of uncomfortable to keep them underneath it all, but it'd be a shame if I had to cut up my favorite clothes just to fit my wings through a hole... So does anyone have any suggestions? I figure it's either one or the other, but it's worth asking what you all do, at least.

And also, is there anyone here from Rieze Maxia? Milla? Alvin? [On one hand, he hopes he's not the only one, but on the other, he really wouldn't want them to be stuck here like he apparently is...]

Uh, well, I guess it depends on what you like to do. There's always people trying to make this place more interesting. [Of course, even then, it still felt pretty limited, but that wasn't exactly encouraging.] There's a library, a bar, hot springs... A lot of people train at the battle dome, but you could use it for other things, too. Oh, and the rec center has games, if you're into stuff like that.

That's probably the best. How about right by the fountain?

I guess that makes sense.

...Actually, that might not be a bad idea. [He's still stuffing his damn wings into his jacket, because he wasn't sure how to go about cutting up the sturdy material.]

Couldn't hurt. But don't be surprised if you're stuck wearing sacks for a while.

[Jude does the same, throwing on his new coat and such before heading out. He makes his way on over to the coffee shop, and once there, looks around for Kirk. He couldn't really get a good look at the small picture on the journal, so it's hard to tell who's who. And so he decides to just call out his name instead. Hopefully that works.]

Kirk? Are you here?

[Now he's a little concerned, but... Can't help it. Milla's probably not here anyway, so it's not like he can check. Ah well. He shakes it off.]

[Living closer to the square, Rue doesn't head out right away. She dresses for the weather, puts her journal into a bad so she can take it with her, then lets whoever is around the house know she'll be heading out for a bit. Before Rue leaves, she stops in the kitchen to see if there's anything else they might need that can be picked up from the convenience store. Maybe a few more bento boxes, those were good.

With everything in order, Rue sets out for the fountain. It doesn't take her too long to get there, and if Jude is there, she'll wave at him. Otherwise she'll wait around. Though snow covers the area, patches of the mural on the ground can be seen. It's very pretty, with its lovely blues and swirly design.]

You might, but I'm not making any promises. [Even a bad mood wouldn't stop her from being deliberately obtuse.

She wasn't that great at pleasantries, so just made her exit right then and there.]

I cut holes in my shirts, but I've just been wearing my jacket over the wings. It's too cold right now, plus if I ever have to go into battle, I wouldn't want them sticking out anyway. You might as well just ask to get yourself killed. [Or at least maimed.]

But for the rest of the time, it does get pretty damn uncomfortable.

[It's impossible, Hayate, he never learns!!]

Yeah. It might be hard to get used to at first, but there's plenty of stuff to do to keep your mind off of things.

[There's a pause, and then, Shinji gets an idea.]

...oh, and speaking of people trying to make this place more interesting, there's this thing called the SOS Brigade. It's a group dedicated to helping people live better lives here. I don't know if you'd be interested, but we could always use more people, so...

[If nothing else, maybe this guy could mention it to others. ~~Anything to lessen his own suffering, tbh.~~]

I suppose you could say that only one of them has advanced technology at its disposal. Otherwise, I can't say I've cared to study them enough for any thorough comparison.

That really depends on the clothing. I usually just leave the wings underneath my looser shirts, but I cut holes in the tighter ones so they aren't squashing my wings down.

I think it all comes down to what you find the most comfortable. I know some people don't like having their wings under any clothing at all.

If you don't mind, that would be great. Are there many places to eat around here?

[Upon seeing and hearing Kirk, Jude makes his way on over to the table and sits across from him.]

That was a good call. It's nice to meet you too -- you know, in person this time, haha...

[Being farther away, Jude takes a bit longer to get there as he essentially has some of the same things to do as Rue. Get dressed for the weather again, let his new housemates know where he's going, etc. He makes sure not to take too long though, so by the time he makes it to the fountain himself, Rue will probably only had been there for a few minutes before him.

He glances as the patches of the mural he can see as he approaches, but then looks up at who he figures is Rue. It's hard to make people's faces out totally clearly with the little images the journal provides, but she looks more or less the same, so hey!]
