G-geez, it's freezing...

[In the afternoon, those in the plaza may find this poor unfortunate new feather trudging toward it as he makes his way there in only pants. Needless to say, he's freezing, and he just wants some actual clothes and warm food...! And to know what the heck is going on. He had already glanced at his journal a bit before, so he knows where he is at least, but he's still awfully confused. Not like he really had the chance to read the journal's guide in depth yet since he's just trying to find a place to stay indoors for now.

Either way, care to help this kiddo out?]

Hello everyone. My name is Jude Mathis. I'm what you all call a "new feather," and I just arrived earlier today. I've already read most of the guide, so don't worry about filling me in on where I am and all. I do, however, have one particular question...

What do you all do with your wings in regards to clothing? It's kind of uncomfortable to keep them underneath it all, but it'd be a shame if I had to cut up my favorite clothes just to fit my wings through a hole... So does anyone have any suggestions? I figure it's either one or the other, but it's worth asking what you all do, at least.

And also, is there anyone here from Rieze Maxia? Milla? Alvin? [On one hand, he hopes he's not the only one, but on the other, he really wouldn't want them to be stuck here like he apparently is...]

I think you'd learn to adapt. It's what humans are good at - adapting. Sometimes it takes us longer, but we can change to the world around us faster than almost any other living creature, I think.

True. I mean, technically speaking, I'm going to have to adapt to being in Luceti suddenly, too... But in terms of that, I guess so long as it wasn't some sudden change and the technology was just slowly introduced, we'd turn out just fine.

Just wait. You'll start advancing, and then you can't stop. Things change so rapidly, but you change with them, and it's just... amazing. You look back and wonder how we got to where we are, and something deep inside just says - this is how we are. This is what we are. We got here and we'll go so much further.

Kind of. They don't talk with words the same way people do. It's more of a feeling you get when they're trying to communicate with you. But they can understand it if you talk to them.

I think so, only I've never done any telepathy before, so I don't know for sure what that's like.

[Rue clutches the box of baked goods to her chest as she walks toward the door. It's not far from all, just around the corner and past the flower shop the convenience store awaits. It's like the grocery store in that there are aisles of food, mostly snacks or non-perishables, a freezer for ice cream and microwaveable food, fresh sandwiches and bento boxes, but there are also aisles for simple home items, mostly medicine or hyginene products.

And of course, what they both came for, the slurpie machine. The machine whirs and hums as the brightly colored liquid slush swirls around in the viewing windows. A stack of cups is nearby.]

It's what I get for looking up at the stars for so long.

Yeah, I do. Some days I think I'll go home and I'll get the five-year expedition assignment and I can just gaze at those stars, pick one, and go see what's there. Maybe I will if I ever get back home.

In that case, you would probably really like the city my medical school is in. Because of its spirit clime, Fennmont has a perpetual night. So you always see the stars.

Really? Sounds like some of the places on Earth. During the winter, they're so far north or south, the sun never rises because of the tilt of the Earth's access - so it's night all winter long. And in the summer it's the reverse - the sun never sets, so it's daylight all the time.
